What ever thing are true..

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things (Phil 4:8)". The Scripture's counsel, to those who walk on the paths of life, is to meditate – ponder carefully upon – whatever things are true and noble, just and pure, lovely, virtuous and praiseworthy. The things we ponder upon - continuously give attention to and meditate on; fill our hearts, becoming treasures of the heart or the abundance of the heart. From such abundance of the heart, we speak and act, revealing to others our true selves. It is important to note, that, we become what we think: so what we will be tomorrow, we will find in the things in our hearts today, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7)". In order to be like Christ, we must be made, like Christ. A tree is known by its fruit; even as man, by his words and deeds. A tree made good, becomes a good tree, bringing forth good fruits. It is even so with man: a man made good becomes good, produces good things and does good deeds. To make, a thing good, is a process that requires change - one of transformation - and like all changes in life, it requires a power to bring it about. For this change to be real, it must come from within, from the abundance of the heart. A change from the heart is the most powerful change there is, either for good or evil: and the things we think upon, define clearly this powerful process of change and what it will result in. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things (Matt 12:35)".

The thoughts of the heart are the means and tools of change. The things, upon which, our hearts ponder, are the very substance of this change. To change, our hearts must reflect on the things that represent what we hope to change into. Our hearts must consistently meditate on the things we wish to become. It is not for nothing that scriptures counsel that we delight, "in the law of the LORD" and in His law "meditates day and night (Psalm 1:2)". The scripture is the most powerful force of change, when received and meditated on continuously, by a heart truly desiring to change, "receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:21)". The salvation of the soul is a transformation of the soul; from one sold under sin and death, to one redeemed and qualified to inherit eternal life. The scriptures bring about, this transformation from death to life, from sin to righteousness, "the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul (Psalm 19:7)". The Lord is good, so are His words. The things, to meditate on, are those things that have their source in God. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights (James 1:17)". So, we are to fill our lives and hearts with His inspiring and life changing words.

The true, noble, honest, virtuous and praiseworthy things in life are contained in God's word. The scriptures are the true things; the things to treasure in our hearts and profit by. "The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. (Psalms 19:8-9)".
