Be anxious for nothing

Image
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.( Phil 4:6-7)”. Cares, fears, worries and anxieties are means through which the human body is drained of physical strength; and the heart, drained of faith and hope. “Be anxious for nothing” , the scriptures say, that our energies, both of the body and the heart, may be preserved for other more important things, like praising and worshipping our God. There never was a problem, solved by been worried or anxious. There is no problem in life that has as its solution fears, worries or anxieties. So, it is useless expending energies in these, when problems or trials confront us. Much better it is for us to heed scriptures’ counsel to “by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving” let our “requests be made known to God” . Prayer, supplication and than...

The struggles within

Image
“I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out” Rom (7:18). The desire to do what is right and a lack of ability to carry it out: describes in clear terms, the inner struggles we face in our Christian walk. These struggles are the fine lines, which separate the Christian from the Sinner. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” James (4:1). A Christian must know to do good, have a desire to do what is good, and actually carry it out. Any thing outside of this, presents an ideal setting for an inner struggle. The struggle within, is the battle of the mind; one of good over evil. An unrelenting quest to control mind and body - by the forces of Good on the one hand and that of Evil on the other - and man, the object of this quest, must choose on which side to stand, and fight. For there are no neutral grounds, only one of two choices is possible – for or again...

And does not doubt in his Heart...

Image
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart , but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says (Mark 11:23)”. These are the words of Jesus Christ to his disciples, explaining in simple terms the basic principles of faith and how to exercise faith. It is very important that we clearly understand the principles of faith and how to exercise faith. Since the Scriptures tell us that ‘without faith it is impossible to please God’.  We must understand that, to please our God, we must have faith. The reason is simple; for the scriptures say “for whatever is not from faith is sin. (Rom 14:23)”.  Putting it plainly, sin is disobedience to the law of God, to His commands and will. Sin is thus, contrary to and against God. The scriptures actually paint a precise picture when it says, “Because the carnal mind is enmity agai...

What ever thing are true..

Image
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things (Phil 4:8)". The Scripture's counsel, to those who walk on the paths of life, is to meditate – ponder carefully upon – whatever things are true and noble, just and pure, lovely, virtuous and praiseworthy. The things we ponder upon - continuously give attention to and meditate on; fill our hearts, becoming treasures of the heart or the abundance of the heart. From such abundance of the heart, we speak and act, revealing to others our true selves. It is important to note, that, we become what we think: so what we will be tomorrow, we will find in the things in our hearts today, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7)". In order to be like Christ, we must be made, like Christ. A t...
